First
compagny and pioneer since 1997, Argania, la Maison
de l'Arganier produce
his own edible extra virgin Argan oil and market it
in Europe and throughout the world.
Imported
from the region of Agadir in Morocco,
our gastronomic extra virgin Argan oil is prepared according
to a thousand-year-old, hand-crafted Berber method.
A true golden liquid it is totally handmade, and its
extraction is difficult.
The collecting and drying of the fruits,
the crushing of the nuts,
the roasting and grinding of the small almonds and, finally,
the kneading of the paste from which the oil is extracted,
all these operations are still carried out by our collaborators,
inhabitants of the Argan forest.
A dozen hours of manual work and about 100 kg. of Argan
fresh fruit
are required to produce one liter of our pure extra virgin Argan oil.
Packaged in France, our extra virgin oil is bottled
in beautiful bottles expressing its rarity and precious quality.

Produced
in a traditional family manufacturing facility,
our extra virgin Argan oil perpetuates an ancestral know-how.
Since centuries Berber
women are the only one to transmit from
one generation to the other the ancestral processes of this tradition.
The elaboration of our extra virgin oil, the rarest edible oil in the world,
requires the mastery of skills that are vanishing and, nowadays,
only a handful of women jealously guard the secrets of this mastery.

Important
customer information
We established our own manufactory of Argan oil back in 1997
and we are not affiliated with any oft the Moroccan cooperatives.
The shops named " l'Argan or "l'Arganier" that you could possibly have visited
during a voyage to Morocco, as well as the brandnames "Argania - Suisse", "Argana",
"Arganium", "Arganie", "Targanine", "Zit Argan", etc, are not affiliated in
any kind with us.
Our virgin Argan oil is conditioned only in 100 ml.,
200 ml. and 350 ml. bottles and
exclusively sold under the name "Argania, la
Maison de l'Arganier" (the House of the Argan
tree).
Before the creation of our company, Argan-oil has never been legally
exported of Morocco and was completely unknown to chefs and gourmets.
In 1997, we produced the first bottles of legally exported Argan oil
and started sales first in France and then all around the globe.
The French customs services of Orly Airport saw Argan-oil for the first time
and were quite unsure how to classify this new product.
Since then, the reputation of Argan-oil has grown in the whole world.
The emerging market has attracted lots of new players
in the small Argan market.
Some of them imitated our packaging or brand name,
but none of them can compete with the taste of our
products.
Maintaining and exploiting a confusion in
consumers minds,
they try to benefit from the excellent reputation Argan oil has acquired
among the best chefs of France, Germany, Japan and the US.
Today, the majority of Argan oils are extracted mechanically
by machines able to produce 80 liters an hour!
However, even these producers claim to work in a traditional way.
Several of them labels for their "biological" or "ecological"
production.
The moroccan Argan trees are not cultivated by men, but grow in the wild,
the Argan forests are placed under the administrative supervision
of the service of National Forestry Commission.
The harvest of the Argan nuts, the collecting of the deadwood even
the rights to farm goats in Argan forests are only granted to local families.
We wonder how some oils can be more "biological" than others,
when each of them is coming from the same trees.
These oils even pretend to be produced using "biological agriculture",
which seems difficult to believe,
since there's no agriculture involved during the growth of Argan trees.
Virgin Argan oil is above all an edible oil. There is no such thing as
"cosmetic argan oils".
Some cheap oils, extracted by solvent, are currently used for skin care or of
massage.
An unrefined pure virgin oil still offers the best quality for any cosmetic
use.
